Sandwiches
I love sandwiches, I can eat them in the morning for breakfast, during the afternoon for lunch or at night for dinner. Nothing is more simple than a sandwich. I had a choice to make my husband is still home on vacation (greatttttttttttt!) so I was being pressured into making lunch. He asked for pizza, a burger, some processed fish sticks (yum-NO) and then those meatballs he keeps buying filled with fat and calories. If you are new to my blog, I will let you in on a secret, my husband weighs in at 175 pounds and is standing 5’10″ and 1/2, yeah, I had to laugh at the 1/2 thing also. Needless to say he is not looking to reduce his caloric intake; and feeding my family is causing me more problems than I can handle.
I headed toward the kitchen thinking a meatball sub piled with fresh mozzarella and marinara sauce would hit the spot, AND THEN I thought about getting on that treadmill and being there for 18 hours to burn off LUNCH; Not HAPPENING Mr. SlimMeJim (my treadmill’s name) was not going to have the next 18 hours of my life. So, instead I made a delicious Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread.
2 slices of WHOLE WHEAT (not 7 grain or any other substitute)
3 slices of Turkey (Turkey is an excellent source of lean protein, but make sure you buy low-sodium varieties if you are using packaged, it is loaded with more than one-third of the maximum recommended daily sodium intake or opt for fresh turkey slices)
1 Slice American Cheese (I haven’t found a reduced fat or low fat cheese that I can vouch for, any suggestions?????)
Romaine Lettuce (Anything you eat should give some nutritional value, try romaine instead of iceberg)
Light Mayo (Kraft is what I use! I love the fact that I serve this Mayo to ALL of my family and friends who think they can tell the difference between Regular and Light) NO-ONE has noticed yet. I guess after they read the blog the cat will be out of the bag. Oh well, I’ve been using it for years!)
So again that’s:

Yes it was! The sandwich was really good with the sprinkle of spice!
Excellent choice turkey over fatty meatballs. If I attempted to burn off everything I eat I would live on the treadmill. Stay encouraged
