Vietnamese Pho and Banh Mi Sandwich

Recipes By Jaden Hair of the Steamy Kitchen Cookbook

This week I am cooking recipes from my friend Jaden Hair “The  Steamy Kitchen Cookbook, www.steamykitchen.com” . I am very lucky to have a family of E-A-T-E-R-S! I don’t have to worry about my kids not eating or eating that. They have been eating from different cultures all their lives. I am so thankful that I introduced them early to all types of food. No fussy eaters at my house. So, after I finished plating the food, I started taking pictures of course. Well, my down fall was I yelled “time to eat and they came running. I had only snapped one shot , then I needed to change my battery in the camera; when I looked around my youngest son Amari was all in it. Before I knew it he was taking big bites and huge gulps of my prop. Why Amari Why? He was enjoying the food so much I couldn’t help but take pictures of him enjoying the meal.

So we all had dinner, I started cleaning the kitchen,  my husband and Amari were in the family room watching football. I was asking my husband something about the game and he never responded. Oh well, I am use to it.  But, when I walked in the room, to my surprise the game was WATCHING my boys.

Jaden, there is nowhere in the recipe that states, it is used as a sleep aide. This is a keeper! Good food plus a sleep aide, I can’t go wrong.

Here is  the recipe for the Vietnamese Pho, I couldn’t find a link for the recipe on her website for the sandwich but it’s in her cookbook page 92, and it’s awesome and full of Flava!

Thanks Lyn, I went in the kitchen a few minutes ago and realized my son loves Vietnamese food also, ALL the broth for the Pho is gone and the noodles. It was a big hit tonight at dinner time!

I love that your son knows how to use chopsticks! I don’t know how old I was when I learned, but I think it was in my 20′s.
I love pho and after traveling in Vietnam last summer find myself craving it. I’ve made it at home before, but I’ve yet to perfect it like it is there.
